Why should I, adopt a Labrador Retriever puppy ?

20 reasons to adopt a Labrador Retriever puppy

(Some may find this to be a old wise tale but I have found it to be true.)

2.   Lab puppies are the #1 most registered dog of the AKC. ( You can check this out for yourself at www.akc.org )

3.   Lab puppies mold to the lifestyle of their paired owner. (It does not matter who the person is the lab will adapt to his/her lifestyle.)

4.   Lab puppies are cute and cuddly. (Who can resist a lab, at puppy stage)

5.   Lab puppies come in a variety of colors. (Lab puppies come in a variety of shades of yellow, chocolate, and black .

6.   Lab puppies come in a variety of shapes. (From tall, long, and thin to short, boxed, and thick.)

7.    Lab puppies come in a variety of sizes. (weight can vary from 50lbs. to 130lbs.)

8.   Lab puppies are gentle. (They are just like a human baby.)

9.   Lab puppies are loyal. (Labrador retrievers will beg you for a task and a reward.)

10. Lab puppies love children. (I know this to be true because I currently have 2 Labrador retrievers and 5 kids ages 7-20…just beware of their tail. They are constantly wagging it and will knock over a small one w/o knowing it!)

11.  Lab puppies love to retrieve. (Well just think about, their breed name is labrador retriever.)

12. Lab puppies are easy to train. (If you can teach the old dogs new tricks ,"and you can" you are sure to see the lab puppies really catch on.)

13. Lab puppies likes to make friends. (If you do not believe this step out of your vehicle and see how quick they dash for you.)

14. Lab puppies shed very little. (lab puppies has a slick close knit coat of fur.)

15. Lab puppies want to be lifelong companions.

16. Lab puppies love to play.

17. Lab puppies are versatile. (From hunting stock,to show,to pet,to all 3 combined this dog will do it all.)

18. Lab puppies love to ride. (I have not seen a labrador retriever to this day that does not love to ride.)

19. Lab puppies are adventurous.(A labrador retriever has no fear he will do anything you do and then some.)

20.  Lab puppies are intelligent. (Very intelligent to be exact.)

What to Prepare for Before Bringing Home your Labrador Puppy

It could be very exciting for the whole family when bringing home a Labrador puppy. However, before you do, there are a few things that you will need to prepare to make the puppy comfortable in its new home. First of all, you should make sure that your kids understand that the puppy will need some time to adjust to its new home environment. Puppies are just like babies, they need lots of care and attention and adjustment time.

Finding a place for your Puppy

You should find a place in the house where the puppy could stay before you bring the Labrador puppy home. Make sure that you allocate a certain area of the house for the puppy as he/she would need a space of its own to sleep, eat and play.

Once you allocate a space for the Labrador puppy, you should prepare a bed for your dog. Because puppies love to chew on things do not use those wicker baskets. It will not take long for them to reduce the wicker basket into twigs. Besides, there is always some danger that your puppy will swallow some pieces of twigs and choke. Please avoid using a wicker bed.

Those boxes made of hard wood would be a better bed for your puppy. Very young dogs are not really strong enough to shred boxes make up of hard wood so you can breath easy. You may use some cotton or woolen blankets for them to lie down on. Cotton or woolen blankets are easy to clean or replace.

Aside from a place to sleep, you will need to designate a place where you will groom your puppy. You will need to get a table where you can put your puppy for grooming

Buying things for your Labrador puppy

Your Labrador puppy will need a few more things. You will need to buy your puppy some supplies such as a basin, shampoo, mineral oil or eye ointment, washcloth and towels to give your puppy a bath. Make sure that you get a mild no tear formula shampoo so that your Labrador puppy will not get irritated when you put shampoo on its coat.

Try Potty Park Risk Free!

Hey Everyone!  I’ve got some great news for you and your pets!

Over and over I am asked the very same question from my new puppy buyers – what is the best way to house train my new puppy?  This has always been a tricky answer because until recently there was no best way or worst way – just the long way.  Well thankfully that has all changed!

I was recently introduced to a product called Potty Park.  It literally is a toilet for dogs that can be used indoors or outdoors at your home, apartment or anywhere else your dog may need somewhere to relieve itself.  Essentially it’s your own private little piece of the dog park anywhere you need it.

I have seen other dog potties for sale and have been very skeptical because of the inherent dangers of all of the bacteria building up on these units, but Potty Park is made from anti-bacterial and anti-microbial medical grade materials.  In fact it’s the only true anti-microbial dog potty in the world!

Once I found out that the White House uses Potty Park for Bo Obama I was sold!  I mean, if there was a better dog potty out there don’t you think they’d be using it?

Not only does it save your floors from accidents and stains, but it also allows you to spend more quality time with your dog(s) and less time cleaning up after them.
